Stella M. Thiry 95, of Casco passed away Friday October 26, 2012 with her beloved family at her side. She was born on December 1, 1916, in Algoma to the late John and Anna (Bero) Prokash. Stella married Henry Thiry on October 10, 1935 in Brussels WI. He preceded her in death November 29, 1990. They ran Thiry's Cheese Company for 10 years. Then ran Thiry's General store and Thiry Oil Company until retirement.
She is survived by one daughter: Sandra(Harold)DeMoulin, New Franken. Five sons: Julius(Bonnie)Thiry, Dale(Rachel)Thiry, David Thiry, all of Casco. Dennis(Dorothy)Thiry, Michael Thiry of Luxemburg. Twelve grandchildren: Tina(Ernest) Hedge, Brian(Gwen) DeMoulin, Lisa DeMoulin, Doug(Laurie) DeMoulin, Mark Thiry, Steve(Marci) Thiry, Brenda(Mike) Derenne, Troy Thiry, Mona Thiry, Kurt(Pam) Thiry, Dan(Lynnette) Thiry, Kevin(Mollie) Thiry. Twenty -four great -grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. Also survived by one brother in law, Ira(Dorothy) Thiry, West DePere, many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Henry, and her parents John and Anna Prokash. Also five brothers and sisters in law. Lawrence(Evelyn) Prokash, Walter(Celia) Prokash, Alvin(Emily) Prokash, Elmer(Millie) Prokash, Clarence Prokash(born May 21, 1918-died May 7, 1942 at the fall of Batan at the age of 24, when Pearl Harbor was hit.) One sister and brother in law Esther(Arthur) DeDecker, Three grandchildren Kelly (Thiry) Skubal , Gary Thiry, Bart Thiry, one great grandchild Katie Beth Thiry. Sisters and Brothers in law: Lena(Clarence) Servias, Irene(Fred) Zimmerman, Anna(Raymond) Rouse, Robert(Margaret) Thiry, James(Vi) Thiry, Melvin(Rose) Gilson and Betty(Johnny) Hucek.
Visitation will be on Monday October 29, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home , Casco. Visitation will continue on Tuesday October 30, 2012 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln from 9:30-11:00A.M. Funeral mass will follow at 11A.M. There will be a Rosary service at 6P.M. on Monday . The family wishes to thank Unity Hospice for the wonderful care given to Stella. A special thank you to Bornemann Nursing Home. We are truly grateful to the people Stella called her special angels: Katie H, Tamara R, Katie T, Tou Thao, Raquel K, Jessica B, Michelle M, Kim D, Katlyn, and Connie. God bless you all for the job you do so well. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Stella's memory.
