Dale John Pekarek

September 25, 1936 — May 14, 2023

Kewaunee

Dale J. Pekarek , age 86, of Kewaunee, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023, at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc after a courageous battle with cancer.  Dale was born September 25, 1936, in Kewaunee, son of the late Joseph and Irene (Sager) Pekarek. He graduated from Kewaunee High School.

On June 30, 1962 he married Corrine Wilson at Holy Redeemer Church in Two Rivers. They were married for almost 60 years before her passing in 2022. He worked many years at Kelvinator in Manitowoc and later at Olsonite in Algoma until his retirement. He served 4 years in the United States Navy; traveling the world; where he learned the masonry trade. After working in the factories all day, he helped out most evenings and weekends doing masonry work for family, friends and neighbors. He was a very hard worker and very talented, and was always willing to help anyone, even in his later years. He loved being outdoors gardening and mowing his lawn, however his favorite place to be was in the woods cutting firewood. He was very conscious about diet and exercise and loved walking or riding his bike. He was an antique tractor collector and loved family tractor rides, which ended with lots of food and drinks. He was an excellent cook and did most of the cooking for family gatherings; our favorite meal he made was Pork and Dumplings. He always had time for his children and grandchildren making special memories by taking them to the beach, fishing or riding bike with them. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his children: Doug (Mary) Pekarek, Dawn (Wayne) Kinjerski and Dallas Pekarek; his Grandchildren: Pamela, Danielle, Dylan, Renee, Dale, Roger and Justine; his Great-Grandchildren: Tatiyana, Bentley, Silas, Celine and Rigoberto; his brother- and sister-in-laws: Joseph (Audrey) Wilson Jr., Ronald Wilson, Lana Wilson, Mary Lou Wilson and Sharen Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Corrine Pekarek, his parents Joseph and Irene Pekarek; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Joseph and Agnes Wilson; brothers and in-laws: Donald (Joan) Pekarek, Dayton (Irene) Pekarek, Norman Wilson, John (Sherry) Wilson, Gerald Wilson, Richard Wilson, Roberta (Dave) Tice, Joan (Jim) Taylor, Doris (Charlie) Kaiser, and Shirley Doubek.
