Josetta M. (Dantoin) Staats
Obituary
Josetta M. Staats, 75, Kewaunee, passed away at home on June 18, 2022. She was born February 15, 1947, to the late Ransom and Margaret (Herson) Dantoin. On May 6, 1972, she married Stephen Staats at St. Hubert’s Church in Rosiere. He preceded her in death in 2002. Josetta worked side by side with Stephen on the family farm. A devoted wife and mother who lived for her children and grandchildren, family was her life. She loved her dogs and cows, not to mention all the birds and wildlife she enjoyed feeding and watching. She was a fan of nature shows, reading and playing games and sudoku puzzles. Josetta always enjoyed visiting with someone, even when she was not feeling well, she was always glad to see them.
Josetta is survived by her children, Jeff (Sandy) Staats, Michelle (Richard) Noronha, and Philip Staats; special nieces, Ginnie (Joel Reamer) Leeming, Kristin (Jesse Jonet) Leeming, Teri (Marc) Collins; grandchildren, Jim, Jake, and Katy Staats, Zachary and Zarina Noronha; special grandchild Savanna Jonet; brother Chris (Marlene) Dantoin; brothers-in-law, Ken (Margie) Staats, Ed (Deb) Staats; sisters-in-law, Janice Dantoin, Nancy (Archie) Grandau, Mila Dantoin; special friend, Sue Repsumer; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen; son Nicholas; parents Ransom and Margaret Dantoin; sister, Georgiana (William) Leeming; brothers, Wayne, Gary, and Roger Dantoin; and sister-in-law, Sue Mullin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Kinnard Funeral & Cremations Services – Casco (formerly Wiesner & Massart Funeral Homes) from 9:00- 11:00 am. Prayer Service will be at 11:00 am with Deacon Bob Miller. Burial will take place in the Holy Rosary Cemetery. Online condolence messages may be shared at www.KinnardFCS.com.
